NEW COVENANT REALITIES

Fasting is not to twist God’s arm so we can receive some action or blessing from the Father's hand. He has given ALL He is going to give in Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son, the Firstborn of many brethren. (Rom. 8:29)  How is the Father going to give us more power when He has already poured out His Spirit on all flesh and Holy Spirit now inhabits the believers? (Acts 1:8) How is He going to give us more blessings when He has already given us all things pertaining to life and godliness? (I Peter 1:3) How are we going to receive more of His Presence when we can already fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace and speak to Him face to face? (Heb. 4:16). If we look to fasting to do any of the above for us, we are relying on our good works to receive from God and denying the power, purpose and provision of the Cross at Calvary.

Fasting is to crucify our flesh and deal with the things that interfere with our relational reality with Him and with one another in Him. Witches and warlocks fast to get filled with more evil. We fast to plunge the knife, kill our flesh and give ascendency to our spirit man, who is already one with the indwelling Holy Spirit, to destroy the works of the devil.

It’s not about having more of God bur rather to allow the great God inside us (Holy Spirit) to rise up and be a giant in you and in me. I must decrease so He can increase. Fasting helps us decrease!
